This Monday, a man was killed in a tragic industrial accident at a construction site in Bessemer City. The victim was from Clover, and worked for A&A Grading.

According to the North Carolina Department of Labor, the fatal construction accident occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. at a site on Lewis Farm Road. The injured worker was taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital, where he passed away.

Details were not released on the accident, beyond that the victim was hit by an excavator. Investigators with the North Carolina Department of Labor will be looking into the cause of the accident.
