Roofer Guilty of Workers' Comp Fraud

The owner of Gulfstream Roofing in Florida has pleaded guilty to workers' compensation fraud. The man used fake construction companies to avoid paying around $400,000 in workers' compensation premiums.

The fraud occurred between 2002 and 2006 when the avoided paying premiums on $3 million of payroll by pretending to pay insured contractors. The owner will serve 5 years probation and will have to pay restitution totaling around $406,500.
