$70K Awarded in Workers' Comp Case

A New Jersey woman injured her knee while on the job at the County of Hudson Department of Corrections. Her injury required surgery to fix and she was disciplined under suspicion of faking her injuries.

The woman filed a complaint under the Law Against Discrimination and the New Jersey Workers' Compensation Act. On July 2, a jury found in her favor and awarded her $70,000 for emotional and economic damages.
