Businesses Owe $5M in Unpaid Workers' Comp Insurance

Posted on June 18th, 2009 1 Comment

In Onandaga County, New York, 50 businesses have been listed as owing a total of $5 million in unpaid workers' compensation insurance. These companies allegedly did not pay their premiums while retaining employees.

In some of the cases, however, businesses are saying that they did pay their premiums and are falsely accused. The Workers' Compensation Board is discussing cases with the businesses to make sure everything works out fairly.
