Injury Insurance for Mississippi Volunteer Fire Fighters

Posted on June 9th, 2009 2 Comments

Mississippi State Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney is pushing legislators to allow volunteer fire fighters to collect disability insurance when injured on the job. Currently, certain rural areas do not have that insurance in place for volunteers.

Without this insurance, volunteer fire fighters can be injured and left unable to carry out their paying jobs. However, since they were not injured at that job, their employers are not obligated to provide benefits. This can leave them in a terrible situation.

If you need disability benefits, contact the Raleigh workers' compensation attorneys of Scudder & Hedrick, PLLC at 919-851-3311.
