Casino construction site accident injures 20
Recently, a construction accident at the building site for a casino in Cincinnati left 20 workers injured. Officials with the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration are investigating the specific cause of the accident.
According to workers at the site and witnesses to the accident, the accident occurred when one corner of the floor on the second-floor of the building collapsed, causing workers to slide down and fall to the ground floor. Officials say that a metal beam that fell caused the corner of the floor to collapse.
The construction workers were pouring concrete on a 60-foot by 60-foot second-floor area when the accident occurred. At least 14 people went to nearby hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Other injured construction workers were treated at the scene of the accident.
