Construction worker killed in 3-story fall in Charlotte

Last week, a construction worked died in a construction accident in Charlotte at the Pike Energy Solutions facility.

The accident occurred at around 8 a.m. when the worker was doing work on the building’s roof.  Police report that the worker and a garbage chute on the top of the building fell 3 stories from the roof.  The worker landed in a large dumpster and suffered serious, life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are currently unsure of what caused the worker and the garbage shoot to  fall.  Reports do not indicate whether federal investigators with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be involved in the investigations into this fatal construction accident.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and tried to revive the worker, but his injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends.
